The rules of Double Joker Video Poker are quite simple, but there are some differences between the single hand and multi-hand versions of the game. First of all, we shall look at the rules of basic Double Joker Video Poker.

As always, players must first decide how many coins they wish to bet. Generally, the highest payouts are reserved for the maximum bets, so it is best to bet the maximum number of coins. Once the bet has been made, the player presses the Deal button unless they have pressed the Bet Max button, which immediately deals while betting the maximum number of coins.

5 cards are dealt to the player onscreen. Jokers are automatically held, as are winning hands that are naturally dealt, but otherwise the player may choose to hold as many or as few cards in the hand as desired. Once that decision has been made, the Draw button is pressed to replace the cards that have not been held.

Once the cards are replaced, Double Joker Video Poker determines whether the player has won based on the final strength of the hand. Winning hands are two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, Joker royal flush, and natural royal flush. Payouts for each winning hand vary according to the statistical likelihood of getting that hand.

Most Double Joker Video Poker machines will also allow winners to attempt to double their win in a side game. If the player chooses to do this, a hand will be dealt face down, with the first card flipped over. The player must then try to choose a higher ranked card from the remaining 4 cards. If it wins, the player’s previous win is doubled, and the double option is available again. If the card loses, the player has lost the previous win and any winnings from double or nothing games already won on that hand.

In multi-hand Double Joker Video Poker, a player is first dealt a single hand. They may, as usual, hold the cards they wish to, but these are then held as a part of every other hand that is being played. On the draw, each hand is dealt to separately. Generally, a Max Bet is a bet on every available hand rather than an increase in the win amounts for different hands.
