Casino War

An easily mastered game that is without a doubt the simplest table game at any casino.

› Casino War

Casino War rules are incredibly simple. First, the player puts down a bet. Then, the player and dealer are both dealt a card face up. If the player’s card is of a higher rank than the dealer’s card, the player wins even money on the bet. If the dealer’s card is the highest ranked, the losing player forfeits the bet. If the dealer and player cards are equally matched in rank value, the player gets a choice of what to do.

The player may choose to surrender. This means the player loses half of the bet, and the round is over. The player may also choose to "go to war". In this circumstance, the player must put down an amount equal in size to the first wager. The dealer then discards three cards and deals the player a new card, and then discards another three cards before dealing himself a new card. If the player’s new card is higher ranked or evenly ranked compared to the dealer card, the player wins even money on the raise, not the total amount risked. The original wager is pushed. If the player loses to the dealer, all of the money down is lost.

Obviously, Casino War has fairly even rules for normal play, but the game greatly favors the house when the initial cards are tied. Depending on the casino, a bonus payout may be available when going to war. A tie is usually the trigger for this after going to war, and the payout will vary by casino. Also, some casinos offer a tie bet as well. This means betting on the likelihood of a tie, and it normally pays out 10 to 1 on a win.
